Keundae Kim received a B.S. and an M.S. degree in Electronics from Sung Kyun Kwan University (SKKU) in 1994 and 1996. He received the Ph.D. degree in Electronics and Electrical engineering in 2011 from SKKU, South Korea.
He has extensive experience in cellular system design and analysis as a research engineer in the wireless mobile and access system division of the R&D Center of DACOM Co. (Currently LGU+, Korea) from 1996 to 2001. His research includes the following topics: WLL (Wireless Local Loop) design, WCDMA modem design and performance analysis/validation.
He worked for Korea Evaluation Institute of Industrial Technology (KEIT, 2001-2014) and managed numerous national R&D research in the fields of system hardware division, medical instruments division (MRI, PET, 3D Endoscope, etc.), testing and certification instrument division and next mobile communications division.
He was a director general of the ICT R&D evaluation division, the network security division, and the network infra division in Institute of Information and Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP, 2014-2025). He is currently the head of national R&D program group for next generation network(6G) (2025 – present).
His research interests involve 5G/6G mobile/Satellite communication, Physical AI, AI software, and Quantum information technology, national R&D strategy and policy, and so on.
