The Next G Alliance is publishing this report as a guideline for terminology referring to specific spectrum ranges that may be applicable for 6G radios. This report develops a clear definition of frequency ranges in publications by the Next G Alliance.
The document accepts current understanding of radio spectrum divisions within the ITU-R Radio Regulations and creates a subpartitioning of those radio spectrum ranges in a logarithmic scale that spans the range from UHF to Terahertz frequencies. This document seeks to help eschew ambiguities in referring to frequency ranges and presents a sub-division of the radio spectrum for use by IMT-2030.
It is suggested that colloquial terms such as mid-band spectrum be avoided without presenting context in respect to the precise spectrum ranges defined in the tables.
